Qeswachaka Inca Bridge Full Day

Cross the last remaining Inca rope bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage site renewed annually for over 600 years using traditional techniques.

📍 3,800 m altitude
⏱️ ~12 hours
🌿 Easy
Includes: Transport, breakfast, lunch, guide

Tour Details

The tour to the Qeswachaka Inca Bridge is primarily done by van, with several stops at points of interest before and after the visit.

Qeswachaka is a long hanging bridge that is restored every June by more than a thousand people from four communities. This ancient ritual was recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2013.

Crossing it is like going back in time. During the reign of the Incas, an extensive network of roads, and one in particular called Qhapaq Ñan, connected every part of the Inca empire. To cross the rugged geography of the Andes, numerous hanging bridges made of plant fibers were built.

This complex technology has been passed down from generation to generation, so that even today one bridge is preserved. In fact, the Qeswachaka Inca Bridge has been renovated annually for more than 600 years, connecting the past with the present.
